about

Inspired by traditional heavy music extraordinary creative unit Relicseed breaks some rules and boundaries in almost any aspect as a metal band in today`s music industry. The artistic character combines a classical foundation with the need for loud amplification fueled with the ultimately addictive passion – creating and playing live music.

Metal band Relicseed was founded in 2004 by four Latvian musicians Mārtiņš Rudzītis (guitars), Ieva Strazdiņa (bass guitar), Mārtiņš Daknis (drums) and Edgars Rakovskis (guitars, vocals). Throughout their career E. Rakovskis has remained the only persistent member of the band who has led the group across his native Latvia`s borders entering various alternative music markets around the world. As the main singer and songwriter Rakovskis is considered to be the creative force within the group throughout all of its history.

The journey began after the band’s debut “60 Minutes of A Dream” released in 2010. First gigs in Europe followed and later on the band was invited to headline the “Metallibash 2011: 3 Decades of Damage” in San Francisco, CA, USA. Soon after the first American experience Relicseed moved to the Burbank-based “Tranzformer Studios” to record the second album together with engineer Bryan Carlstrom.

“Slaughterhouse” was released in 2014. The record quickly gained attention and was nominated for the biggest Latvian music award Golden Microphone as the best rock and metal recording. In the summer of 2014 Relicseed toured across the USA and “Slaughterhouse” as a number one record on 14th annual Independent Music Awards (USA) in the category best metal/hardcore album followed soon after that.

Currently Relicseed is working on the next studio album.

On October 30, 2017 Relicseed Ltd. signed an agreement Nr. SKV-L-2017/534 with Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA)  for the project “International competitiveness promotion” which is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
